Character Name: Rani
Source: Disney Fairies Books
Personality:
Rani is a very kind, compassionate, and self sacrificing fairy. If she knows a fellow fairy is in trouble she doesn’t hesitate to rush to their rescue even if it means having to face one of the most feared foes in pixie hollow.. A hawk! Such was the case during the fairy treasure hunt when her partner Ronan nearly got scooped up by the massive bird’s talons. Her most notable act was when she had her own wings cut off in order to retrieve a mermaid’s comb and essentially save Mother Dove’s egg and everyone in Neverland. The egg itself must be preserved for it is the sole reason why people don’t age with any rapidity in Neverland. The egg itself had become cracked and the only way to repair it was by gathering three items and delivering them safely to Kyto the dragon whom was able to repair the egg. As a result of this quest Rani became the only fairy without wings in Pixie Hollow. This is sort of a touchy subject for her. Although she adapted well to the transition and is able to get around by riding around on the back of brother dove instead she hates feeling pity from the other fairies for it. She usually can contain her frustration over this subject but if she’s continually bombarded with sorrowful looks or comments in one day she can get a bit snippy.
Like all water fairies, she tends to be more emotional and prone to crying. Rani cries when she’s truly happy, when she’s upset, and when she’s sad. It’s even been said that she cries more than even other ware fairies. It’s due to this that her clothes tend to have lots of pockets to hold her leafkerchiefs. It really isn’t that difficult to get her in tears. For example, Tinkerbell made a set of glasses equipped with sponges in order to help catch Rani’s tears so she wouldn’t need so many leaf kerchiefs which only served to inspire Rani to get upset and cry. She doesn’t like to feel like others are judging her which is also evidenced in the previous example. She thought Tinkerbell simply didn’t like her tears. It could be said that Rani can be too sensitive and take things in the wrong way easily.
Another trait of Rani’s is that she can be overenthusiastic and be in a hurry to either get things accomplished or get to the point in a conversation. She often tries and sometimes succeeds to complete other peoples sentences before they can get the full thought out. She does this as a habit and a reflex not realizing how irritating it might be to others to have their own trains of thought interrupted. While she can be impatient with other fairies during conversations and working on tasks with a deadline she’s very patient with Brother Dove, knowing that he didn’t have to consent to be her wings at all.
She loves swimming, water, her friends, and flying with Brother Dove. Since she is the only fairy without wings she has the unique pleasure of being the only fairy who can swim. That was one of the benefits of her sacrifice. Fairy wings tend to absorb water with they get wet and they can weigh a fairy down to the depths, without her wings this is no problem at all. If the other fairies ever need something from under the water, whether it was dropped in by accident or not Rani will gladly oblige their requests and retrieve the object for them. Despite this ability, and what she did to save the egg, Rani remains quite humble. She did what she needed to do, not because she wanted the accolades later. She’s also very loyal to her friends.
Another example of her generosity was the time the water fairies were trying to create this spectacular fountain for a celebration. Through some unfortunate incident it was decided that Rani wouldn’t be allowed to help with the preparations. She was so upset for having made more trouble than she meant and she ended up leaving Pixie Hollow. Though when she found just the right thing to really make the fountain perfect she donated the items to the project anyway, despite how tempting it would have been to keep the glowing pearl for herself. She is always thinking about others.
Rani is dedicated to her craft as a water-talent fairy and practices whenever she can. Through her devotion and dedication to her craft she can form water into just about any shape. Such as in the case when she faced the hawk, she formed water from the stream into a sort of water dragon and spooked the hawk away with it.
History/Pull Point: http://dfairies.wikia.com/wiki/Rani - Disney Fairies Wiki / I’d like to take her from Four Clues for Rani).
Abilities/Special Powers/Non average skills:
As a water-talent fairy, Rani is able to manipulate and control water. She can form water into various shapes, makes fountains, and even help water to boil faster. During the drought she helped to divert other sources of water into Havendish Stream but something on that scale required the assistance of other water-talents to accomplish. Some of the shapes you see her create in the books are a dragon, an orb of water which she’s able to bounce, and a fish.
This isn't really an ability however like all the fairies from Neverland she is much smaller than a human. Also in order to get around more efficiently all she has to do is whistle and a dove will come to her aide allowing her to ride on it's back. (I was hoping that she might bring one of the doves as a pet. They can speak but only animal-talents can understand them so they can not communicate normally. A human couldn't understand them.)
[Game Specific]
Character class: Mage [Specializing in Water spells]
Why your character would be that class: It’s the closest thing based on her actual abilities.
Powers/skills to be gained by being that class: Just maintain the ones she has, I guess.

Log sample:
Rani had headed to the library to brush up on her geography in order to prepare for the treasure hunt however in the midst of all those books she’d managed to get distracted a few times and in the end she’d fallen asleep on one of the tomes. When she came to, she realized that if she didn’t hurry she might not be able to wrangle a partner for the completion. These treasure hunts were big events in Pixie Hollow. All the fairies got to participate and it was one of the few times when no one had to do any work. Not only that but the cooking-talents provided special lunches with anything you wanted in them! Clues were spread out over Neverland and whoever managed to finish the hunt first would get to have lunch with the queen and get a private viewing of the crown jewels.
She hastily stood up from the table. “Oh no! I can’t believe it’s already this late!”. In one swift motion she moved to flip the book closed only to find a different book entirely in it’s place. Even though she knew she should leave she couldn’t help but stare nearly entranced by the book. There was no name on the cover, or anywhere she could see but the details put into the embossing, the color, and the binding were all quite remarkable even to a water-talents eyes. “The binding-talent fairies put a lot of effort into this one…”. She carefully approached the book like she were looking at an exhibit in a museum. It didn’t seem like she should touch it… but.. She just couldn’t resist the lure. “It couldn’t hurt to at least look at the title. Then I’ll go..”.
Rani lifted the cover and peeked inside. She was met with something she didn’t expect. “An ..illustration?”. There was someone in the picture in a long blue robe. It looked like they didn’t have any wings but they could have been hidden underneath. “Is she a water-talent too…?”. There wasn’t much more time to examine it before she started to feel woozy and listed closer to the book. Whatever was happening didn’t make any sense to her. Was she still asleep? Was this part of her dream? Her eyes widened as showers of sparks flew out of the tome and an intense white light seemed to engulf her and block out everything else. Rani opened her mouth to call for the librarian but nothing came out before she finally blacked out.
When she came too she found herself in an entirely unfamiliar room. It looked like it was built for a clumsy! The walls were so far apart and the ceiling so high, even the bed she was situated on was HUGE. She drew up her legs, sat up and looked for anything familiar. She certainly didn’t remember taking a trip to the mainland, and if she had there would be other fairies around! More surprisingly even her clothes had changed. The robe! It was the same robe from the illustration! The cloth felt soft against her skin but she was missing her dress made of foliage. This robe didn’t even have enough pockets for all her leafkerchiefs!
“I have to get out of here… I need to get back to the home tree..” She told herself, and got to her feet. She wobbled a little on the soft, squishy surface, and threw her arms out to the side to balance herself.
“I’m afraid that isn’t possible Rani,” A voice boomed from the other side of the bed. At least it sounded fairly loud to her.
“Who is it? Whose here?” She whipped around and spotted a old man sitting on a stool, “Oh! I didn’t know anyone else was here!” Her glow flared up to a brilliant orange displaying her embarrassment for all to see. She’d never been this close to a clumsy before, besides the lost boys and this one seemed to have no problems hearing her at all.
“Where I am? Is… is this a dream?!”
Orb sample:
[Having had a little time to get over the shock of her arrival, Rani decided to use this orb-thing the old man had mentioned to her. She plucked it gently off her necklace and placed it before her]
Hello? Can anybody hear me?
[She waiting for a response but it wasn’t too long before she continued..]
I’m sure this must be a various nice land but… I really must be going.
Does anyone know how I can get- [Her words started to become more halting as she proceeded, before she just outright reduced herself to tears]
[She tried to continue but all that came out was a nonsensical and blubbering mess. Without her leaf kerchiefs handy she had to use the ends of her robe to wipe her eyes. Then she just sat in front of the orb and sobbed. ]
